Entitlements are defined as the right given by the broker to their
clients to view and download their research.
A broker has total control over who views their research. Entitlements
are done on a firm-level basis.
There are two entitlement policies that Reuters offers brokers:
- Preapproval — No firms are entitled to the broker's research without the broker's
authorization. This is controlled and maintained by the broker. They
must entitle their client base.
- Postapproval — All firms are entitled to the contributor's research. This is
controlled and maintained by the broker. They must disentitle any
firms they do not wish to have access to their research.
Entitlements do not apply to Independent Research Providers. They sell
their documents to qualified subscribers on a per document basis.
Users can view specific sets of documents based on the login
credentials the application passes to the Reuters Research API
using the authorization token. All users may have the same
entitlements, or it may support effective users that view a variety of
documents based on different entitlements.
